ABSTRACT This study was to assess the effect of remuneration on performance of TRA. The specific objectives of the study were to examine the influence of remuneration on employee performance in TRA; to examine the influence of training on employee performance in TRA; and to examine how employee performance is affected by facilitation in TRA The methods used for data collection was questionnaires to the staff members of Uganda Revenue Authority. In chapter four, the findings were presented and interpreted in relation to the study objectives and research questions. While linking to the existing literature, results included demographic characteristics, frequency and percentages. Based on the findings it was observed that Overall results from the study showed that remuneration has an effect on the performance of TRA. The study found that financial and non-financial rewards have a relationship with the performance of TRA. Staff motivation and performance management depend on good systems that offer both financial and nonfinancial rewards, which leads to conclude that the quality of individual performance heavily depends on the organization dedication to good staff working conditions and remuneration. In chapter five, development of solutions to the problem, summary of the findings and conclusions were attempted. The findings suggested recommendations that The TRA management with help of government needs to scrutinize the rewards, remuneration and reward system of staff. Staff at all level needs to have confidence in the reward system of the organization. They want the rewards to be shared fairly and equitably and if they are not, then dissatisfaction will arise and cause severe innovate and performance problems.
